House Rules

Welcome to Green End Farm Cottages. We hope you have a wonderful stay. We just want to let you know about a few important things to make your stay on the farm enjoyable.

Wifi

The wi-fi code can be found in the folder on page 1 in each barn.

Instruction Manuals

There are a  selection of user manuals for the equipment that can be found in the kitchen drawer / or sideboard units.
Hopefully everything is user friendly and straightforward but please don’t hesitate to let us know if there are any problems. The kitchen hobs are induction, so just give us a shout if you need help.

TV

The TV has freeview but sometimes the reception can be poor in bad weather.

Wood burning stove

When lighting the fire please start with small pieces of cardboard/paper with some kindling and a firelighter. This will help create the draw needed to start the fire. Then add small logs. The fire is fairly new – so there may be a chemical smell when you first light it but this will lessen with use.
Logs are provided for one evening’s fire. If you would like to take more from the honesty wood shed at the side of the Sheep Shed, wood is £8.00 per bag or pack.
Please note that the wood burner will become extremely hot to the touch as will the metal chimney. Please take care!

Septic Tank

The drainage system operates by means of a septic tank. It is therefore important that no bleach is used as this will disrupt the system. It is also important not to put any tampons, sanitary towels, wet wipes, and kitchen roll etc. into the toilet. Sanitary bags can be found in the basket under the sink in the bathroom.

Smoking

There is a strict No Smoking / Vape Policy in all cottages.

Heating System

The cottage is heated by underfloor heating throughout. There are controls in the bedrooms, hallway and kitchen/sitting room. They are currently set to create an ambient temperature of 21 degrees in the morning/late afternoon and 18 degrees at night time. If however you find that it is too hot or too cold then please see the instruction manual on how to change it – or let us know if you have any problems. The temperature can take a while to adjust once changed.

Doggy rules

Dogs must be kept under control or on leads in all communal spaces.

Our chickens are free-range – please keep an eye out for our lovely girls.

Please keep our green spaces nice and clean and pop all dog waste in the bins provided

Please try and keep dogs off the furniture and out of the bedrooms – if this proves impossible please ask us for some extra doggy throws.

Please don’t leave your dog alone in the barn without checking in with us first.

Please follow the countryside code. We have a lot of sheep and lambs in the area so please keep your dog under control at all times.

Car Parking

Please be respectful when parking in the car park. There is enough space for 2 cars per cottage, so if you have more please be respectful of other cars or park outside the property gates.

Garden Areas

You are welcome to use the garden area in front of the cottage & the seating areas all around the cottage.

Footpaths

The driveway is also a public footpath so you may see other people wandering past the cottages from time to time.
There are many great walks to choose from and we’ve prepared a few maps to help you as well as leaving an OS map of the area in the information basket.

Cleaning

We would ask that care is taken of the property and its contents and that it is left clean and tidy. Accidental damage or breakages of a minor nature will not normally be charged but the occupier will be liable for any damage over £10. Please notify us straightaway of any breakages so we can organise replacements for the next guests.

Please let us know if you need any extra cloths, dishwasher tablets  or bin bags

Checking Out

Check out time is 10am unless something to the contrary has been arranged. Often we have new guests arriving the same day so need the time to get the cottage cleaned and ready for their arrival. Your cooperation in this regard would be appreciated. If we do not have more guests checking in we will always try to accommodate a later checkout when possible.
We will hopefully see you to say goodbye but if we are not around please just leave the cottage unlocked and the keys in the door (on the inside).

We hope you enjoy your stay at Green End Farm Cottages. If there is anything you need please do not hesitate to come to the farmhouse to see us or text/call us on 07919 546 789 or 07590 523313
